Charges have ben filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a male at 535 Firnat Street that occurred about 12:35 a.m. Tuesday (August 10).
The suspect, Jennifer Mendoza (H/f, 41), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 230th State District Court. Mendoza is accused of shooting her husband, Daniel Angelo Estrada, 33, who was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective A. Shaikh reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Estrada had been shot by Mendoza. During the course of the investigation, officers learned Mendoza shot Estrada during the course of a domestic dispute.
Estrada suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Mendoza was arrested at the scene without incident and subsequently charged for her role in the shooting.
