Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 2501 Tanglewilde Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 2501 Tanglewilde Street about 11:20 a.m. on Monday (June 26).

The suspect, Wenwen Zhou, 40, is charged with aggravated assault-family member in the 228th State District Court.  A booking photo of Zhou is attached to this news release.

The victim, 35, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. Montalvo and R. Cisneros reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment at the above address and learned one male had been shot and transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.

Further investigation determined Zhou and her husband (the victim) were in a domestic dispute that escalated when Zhou shot him.  The victim and Zhou provided statements to detectives.  After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Zhou was subsequently charged for her role in the incident.
