Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 15155 Richmond Avenue

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of two men at 15155 Richmond Avenue about 9:40 p.m. on September 24.

The suspect, Cristian Josue Maldonado, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 487th State District Court.  A booking photo of Maldonado is attached to this news release.

The male victims, 43 and 27, were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives M. George and V. Jones reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and located a male with multiple gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to the hospital.  A second victim was transported by private vehicle to an area hospital.

A preliminary investigation and witness statements determined the first shooting victim was meeting with a suspect at the above address when they got into an argument. The victim pulled out a gun on the suspect and another male with him, and demanded money.  The shooter then fired his weapon, striking the victim multiple times.  The second victim was inside his apartment when a stray bullet struck him in the wrist.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and the suspect, identified as Maldonado, was subsequently charged.  On Tuesday (October 2), Maldonado was arrested by the HPD Fugitive Apprehension Team without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.
