Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 1419 South Loop West

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a shooting incident at 1419 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) about 12:15 a.m. today (October 28).

The suspect, Horace Devlon Gordon, 45, is charged with burglary of a building in the 208th State Court District. A photo of Gordon, who is hospitalized, is attached to this news release.

The male shooter, 33, was not injured.

HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division Detectives V. Habukiha and J. Windham reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a business at the above address and found the suspect (Gordon) suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital in stable condition.

The shooter told investigators Gordon was attempting to break into the business when he shot Gordon.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Gordon was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
