| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 12114 Tambourine Drive about 5:25 a.m. on Tuesday (January 2).
The suspect, Yaquelin Artiga-Rosales, 30, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 182nd State District Court. A booking photo of Artiga-Rosales is attached to this news release.
The victim, 26, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective M. Deleon reported:
Artiga-Rosales shot her brother and then called 9-1-1 and informed police she was the person responsible for the shooting. HPD patrol officers responded to the scene, detained Artiga-Rosales without incident and recovered the weapon used in the shooting.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Artiga-Rosales was subsequently charged for her role in the incident. She was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
