Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 10214 Hollyglen Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 10214 Hollyglen Drive about 7:30 a.m. last Wednesday (November 27).  

The suspect, Xavier Napoleon Berryman, 22, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 230th State District Court.  A booking photo of Berryman is attached to this news release.

The victim, 42, was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Roberts reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and found the victim with gunshot wounds to the left leg and ankle.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the man to the hospital.

Further investigation determined the suspect, identified as Berryman, one of the victim’s family members.  The two men got into a verbal altercation.  When the victim turned and walked back toward his vehicle, Berryman pulled out a pistol and shot the man.  Berryman then fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later released.

Berryman later returned to the scene and was arrested.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Berryman was subsequently charged.  Berryman was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
