Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 10414 Richmond Avenue about 9:30 p.m. on May 13.
The suspect, Jamari Scott, 25, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 176th State District Court. A booking photo of Scott is attached to this news release.
The victim, 29, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where he was treated and released.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives P. Ungaro and A. Alvarez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a business parking lot at the above address. According to a witness, two unknown male suspects, exited a white Chevrolet sedan and shot the victim multiple times. The suspects then fled the scene in the sedan. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
Further investigation and evidence from the scene identified Scott as a suspect. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Scott was charged for his role in this incident. Scott was arrested on Saturday (August 10).
A second unidentified suspect remains at large and is known to drive a white Chevrolet Equinox with dark tinted windows and Texas license plates TLB1435.
