Suspect Arrested, Charged in May Fatal Shooting at 926 Lester Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 926 Lester Street about 3:40 a.m. on May 27.

The suspect, Devan Kristopher Jordon (b/m, 21), is charged with capital murder in the 185th State District Court.  A booking photo of Jordon is not releasable at this time, pending further investigation.

The victim, Joshua Sandoval, 28, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased the next day.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives L.W. Osborn and C. Arrington and Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer B. Godoy reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and learned Mr. Sandoval had been shot once in the torso while in his garage.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Sandoval to the hospital.

The investigation revealed this was likely related to multiple home invasion style robberies in Houston.  The HPD Homicide and Robbery Divisions jointly followed up leads in these cases.

Last Thursday (July 1), based upon leads developed by both divisions, Devan Kristopher Jordan was charged for his role in Sandoval’s death.  He was subsequently arrested in the shooting.

The investigation into this murder and other potentially related robbery and home invasion cases is continuing.  Thus, Jordon’s booking photo is not being released.

Anyone with information in this or cases involving Jordon is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
