Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 14110 Autumn Ridge Trail Drive about 1:15 p.m. on May 2.
The suspect, Kevin Leon Brown, 22, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 230th State District Court. Brown’s booking photo is attached to this news release.The deceased victim is identified as Phadon McPhail, 24.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Persad and L. Gonzales reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call to the residence at the above address and found both men suffering from gunshot wounds in the front yard. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported both victims to area hospitals where doctors pronounced one of them, Mr. McPhail, deceased on May 4. The second victim, 22, is expected to survive his injuries.
Further investigation identified Brown as a suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting. Officers with the HPD SWAT and Northwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression teams arrested Brown on Monday (June 5) without incident.
