Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 8900 Interchange Drive about 11:05 p.m. on March 13.
The male suspect, 16, was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charge. Juvenile information and booking photos are not releasable.
The male victim, 61, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Robbery Division Detective K. Edie reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a robbery call in the street at the above address and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported him to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators learned the victim walked to his parked vehicle and saw that it had been burglarized. An unidentified black male approached him and asked to use the victim’s phone before demanding his property. A physical altercation ensued and the suspect shot the victim more than once. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Further investigation identified the juvenile male as the suspect and robbery investigators arrested him on April 16. He was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
