Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 8301 Willow Place Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of one woman and the wounding of another at 8301 Willow Place Drive about 9 p.m. on Monday (August 16).

The suspect, Ericka Nicole McDonald (H/f, 29), is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 263rd State District Court.  A booking photo of McDonald is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased woman, 51, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detectives R. Naughton and M. Hughey reported:

The suspect, McDonald, broke into an apartment at the above address through the front window and began stabbing the victim and the apartment’s owner.  McDonald then fled the scene, although she later returned, claiming she was not involved.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  The second woman, 63, was also transported with stab wounds in unknown condition.

Further investigation determined McDonald had an earlier argument with both victims.  Although she was wearing a mask at the time of the attack, the second victim was able to identify her.  Bloody clothes were also found in McDonald’s apartment.  McDonald was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged in this case.
