Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 9410 Richmond Avenue about 11:44 p.m. on Sunday (September 20).
Jhon Alex Riasco Veryara (H/m, 27), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. A booking photo of Riasco Veraya is not available at this time, as he remains hospitalized. .
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Dudley and K. McDonald reported:
The victim and Riasco Veryara began arguing in the parking lot at the above address. During the argument the victim pulled out a gun and shot Risaco Veryara in the leg. A struggle ensued and Riasco Veryara took the gun from the victim and shot him several times. The victim was then transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Riasco Veryara was transported to West Houston Hospital in an unknown condition.
Further investigation and review of evidence led to the Riasco Veryara being charged for his role in the incident.
