Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 9231 Kingsflower Circle about 6:05 p.m. on Saturday (May 14).
Carlos Albert Garcia-Velasquez, 28, is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. A booking photo of Garcia-Velasquez is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Graff and S. Chettry reported:
Officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the male inside his vehicle, parked in the driveway of the residence. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Garcia-Velasquez was at the location when police arrived and he was detained at the scene.
Further investigation identified Garcia-Velasquez as a suspect in this case and, after consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, he was subsequently arrested and charged for his role in the shooting.
