Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5106 Enyart Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 5106 Enyart Street about 1:20 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 15).

The suspect, Keith Marion Lee, 35, is charged with murder and three counts of injury to a child in the 183rd State District Court. A recent (December) booking photo of Lee, who is hospitalized, is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Wilson and Detective M. Castillo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call in the 5100 block of Cosby Street and learned two children – a female, 10, and a male, 4 – went to a neighbor’s home asking for help and to report a shooting. Both children showed signs of physical abuse.

Officers observed a man, later identified as Lee, on top of a roof, ordered him down and took him into custody.

The officers went to the children’s residence at 5106 Enyart Street and found a boy, 2, suffering from serious injuries. They also located an unresponsive woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

Detectives were told the woman was either married to or was the suspect’s common-law wife, and that the suspect is the father of their three children.

Paramedics transported the children to an area hospital where they remain in stable condition. The two younger children suffered fractures to their faces/heads.

Lee was questioned, subsequently charged and taken to a local hospital to be treated for a medical condition.  Once he is released, he will be transported to the Harris County Jail.
