Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 20 Greenway Plaza about noon on Wednesday (March 16).
The suspect, Montavius Terrell Wright, 26, is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court. A booking photo of Wright is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 48, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Higgs and K. Fregia reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at an office building at the above address (3800 Cummins St.) and were advised that one male was shot inside the building. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
As officers searched the building for the suspect, they identified him as Montavius Wright. The suspect was located outside his residence at an apartment complex and taken into custody without incident. After he was questioned by detectives, Wright was taken to jail and subsequently charged in the shooting.
