Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 8000 Martin Luther King Boulevard

Houston police have arrested a suspect in the fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the 8000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard about 10 a.m. Thursday (April 4).

The suspect, Ravven Kayon Lewis, 32, is charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid Involving Death in the 182nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Lewis is attached to this news release.

The identity of the male victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and M. Matthews reported:

A silver Cadillac SRX, driven by a female, was traveling northbound at the above address and was attempting a left turn when she struck a white Dongfang motorcycle, operated by the male victim.  The male was traveling southbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard when he was were struck. The driver and passenger of the Cadillac then fled the scene on foot.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The suspect, later identified as Lewis, turned herself into HPD officers at a patrol station and provided a statement regarding her involvement in the crash.  She was subsequently charged for her role in the crash and booked into the Harris County Jail.
