Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 7700 Katy Freeway

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 7700 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 11:25 p.m. last Friday (December 15).

The suspect, Hunter Cameron Villasana, 17, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 182nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Villasana is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased woman is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer S. Bouarar reported:

A black Mercedes GLK350 was traveling eastbound near the above address and attempted to turn northbound onto Silber Road at an unsafe speed.  The Mercedes failed to stay in a single lane, struck a curb and a pedestrian sleeping on the median before striking a wall.  The driver of the Mercedes, later identified as Villasana, attempted to flee the scene but was detained by witnesses.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.

Villasana was arrested and subsequently charged for his role in the crash.
