Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 7400 Calhoun about 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday (June 26).
The suspect, Mark Damon Charlot (b/m, 32), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of Charlot is attached to this news release.
The identity of the female victim, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Henley reported:
Charlot was driving a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck northbound near the above address when he failed to stay in a single lane and struck a blue Mazda 626 stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Pershing. The driver of the Mazda (victim) died at the scene. Two children in the vehicle, 16 and 10, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with minor injuries. Charlot was determined to be impaired and was arrested and charged.
