Houston police have arrested a suspect in the fatal crash that occurred at 6700 Boone Road about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday (October 9).
Yennifer Viveros Villarreal, 37, is charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #2. A booking photo of Viveros Villarreal is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased female is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Bibb reported:
Viveros Villarreal was driving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck pickup truck southbound on Boone Road and turned left onto Bellaire traveling eastbound. The deceased female (pedestrian) was attempting to cross Bellaire in a crosswalk when she was struck by Viveros Villarreal. The female was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Viveros Villarreal had a green light turning left. She remained at the scene, was questioned and found to be intoxicated. The investigation is continuing.
