Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 5800 Edward Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 5800 Edward Drive about 7:55 p.m. on Saturday (July 20).

The suspect, Gabriala Sebastian-Lucas (H/f, 29) is charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid in the 248th State District Court.  A booking photo of Sebastian-Lucas is attached to this news release.

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer V. Ramos reported:

The victim was driving a blue Honda Accord northbound on Lee Road when the vehicle was struck a tan Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by Sebastian-Lucas.  The Chevrolet was traveling eastbound on Edward Drive after leaving a stop sign at the intersection.  Sebastian-Lucas and her male passenger fled the scene on foot.  Sebastian-Lucas was taken into custody minutes after the crash.  The male was later located at his residence and taken into custody without incident and was later questioned and released.

Sebastian-Lucas admitted to investigators she was the driver of the pickup truck.  She was determined to be impaired and was subsequently charged for her role in the crash.
