Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 11900 Westheimer Road about 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday (April 10).
The suspect, Brandon Rashad Lehman (b/m, 23), is charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxication manslaughter in the 338th State District Court. A booking photo of Lehman is attached to this news release.
The identity of the female victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Glenn reported:
The victim was walking northbound across Westheimer Road, not in a crosswalk, when she was struck by a red Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Westheimer. The driver (Lehman) continued westbound then eventually came to a stop.
The victim died at the scene. Lehman was determined to be impaired and subsequently charged for his role in the crash.
