Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault Incident at 4000 West 34th Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in an assault of a man at 4000 West 34th Street about 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday (August 31).

The suspect, Andrei Silviu Niculusca, 47, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court.  A booking photo of Niculusca is attached to this news release.

The male victim, 28, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Kimbrough reported:

The victim and Niculusca got into a verbal altercation in a nearby parking lot.  The victim drove away in his vehicle and Niculusca followed him in his white Ford F-150 pickup truck.  At some point, Niculusca, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the victim’s vehicle with his vehicle, causing the victim to lose control and strike a utility pole.  Paramedics responded to the scene and the victim was transported via Life Flight helicopter to the hospital.  Niculusca was detained at the scene.

After contacting the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Niculusca was charged for his role in the incident.
