Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault at 5610 Royal Palms Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the assault of a man at 5610 Royal Palms Street about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday (October 6).

The suspect, Christopher Williams, 31, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court.  A booking photo of Williams is attached to this news release.

The victim, 70, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective D. Spears reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a cutting call at the above address and learned two males got into an altercation.  Both men suffered stab wounds and one of the males also received burns on his head.  Both men were transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation and witness statements determined  the younger male, identified as Williams, started the altercation.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Williams was subsequently charged for his role.  Williams was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
