Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault at 3401 Ocee Street

Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the assault of a woman that occurred at 3401 Ocee about 7:25 a.m. on Sunday (April 11).

The suspect, Orlin Cabrera-Sanchez (H/m, 29) is charged with assault of a family member and aggravated assault of a pregnant person in the 351st State District Court. A photo of Cabrera-Sanchez is attached to this news release.

The victim, Sandra Cantillano-Rios, 25, sustained minor injuries.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Ramirez reported:

The HPD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) and a K-9 unit responded to a report that Cabrera-Sanchez was barricaded inside an apartment at the above address following an argument with his estranged common-law wife, Ms. Cantillano-Rios. Once Cabrera-Sanchez was safely taken into custody, it was found that he had assaulted and strangled Cantillano-Rios, who was also two months pregnant.
