Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in an assault of a man at 16138 Coyridge Lane about 10:15 p.m. last Friday (July 26).
The suspect, Rigoberto Diaz (H/m, 27), is charged with injury to the elderly and felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail. A booking photo of Diaz is not available at this time.
The victim, Victor King, 66, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives C. Grahmann and A. Williams reported:
Mr. King and Diaz were arguing over Diaz’s lawnmower. King was in the process of returning the lawnmower when Diaz assaulted him. King then used a knife to defend himself, wounding Diaz. According to a witness, Diaz then went to his home, retrieved a firearm and went to King’s residence. Nothing further occurred before HPD patrol officers arrived on the scene.
Diaz was treated at a nearby hospital before being transported to the Fort Bend County Jail.
