Surveillance Photos Released in Fatal Shooting at 2200 West Bellfort Avenue

Houston police have released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 2200 West Bellfort Avenue about 2:30 p.m. on Friday (May 23).

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately five feet ten inches to six feet tall, 18 to 25 years of age, with locs hairstyle. The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt, blue shorts and carrying a cross body bag. Two surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting along with Metro Police Department officers at the above address. The victim was found lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics where he was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation revealed the male (victim) had been in an argument with a male on the Metro bus. The suspect then drew a weapon and shot the victim.
