Houston police have released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 2900 Woodridge Drive about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 17).
The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a dark hoodie with blue lettering on the front. Two surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Mary Jane Gonzales, 49.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Kauffman and J. Campbell reported:
An off-duty officer heard a gunshot coming from the parking lot of a bank at the above address and ran toward the gunfire. The officer saw a male standing near the body of a female. The male then fled the scene in a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the woman (Ms. Gonzales) deceased at the scene. She had been shot at least one time.
The motive in the shooting appears to be robbery.
