WHAT: Strip center fire.
WHEN: March 29, 2024, at 10:22 p.m.
WHERE: 11320 Chimney Rock Rd. 77035.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $1,650,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke and fire coming from a medium sized strip center. The electrical services going into the building were on fire with active arcing. CenterPoint was requested and a primary search was completed with an evacuation of the businesses. Once CenterPoint arrived and secured the power, crews made an offensive attack and extinguished the fire with minimal extension. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause of the fire. 35 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 48, 82, 2, 21, 59, 37, 51, 24 and 28.
