WHAT: Strip center fire.

CAUSE: Unintentional (cutting / welding too close to combustibles).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke coming from the roof of a commercial strip center. They stretched hose line to control the fire and went to the roof for evaluation. The utilities were controlled, and crews forced entry into the main business involved. A fire was found and extinguished in the ceiling ductwork. Firefighters ventilated the structure and conducted a primary and secondary search. A worker had been using power tools on the roof which sparked and most likely caused the fire. The individual was treated on scene for injuries to his arm. 37 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 31, 34, 6, 30, 58 and 12.
