Restaurant Building Fire in The Central Northwest Area

WHAT: Restaurant building fire.

WHEN: August 20, 2024, at 4:27 p.m.

WHERE: 3321 Ella Blvd. 77018.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.

DAMAGE: $500,000 in estimated property/content damage.

CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical malfunction).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof of a restaurant. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. The roof was ventilated, and fans were used to help clear the smoke from the building. The utilities were secured, and crews pulled the ceiling to access the void spaces and attic area. A nearby structure was protected as well. Additional units were requested, including Rehab and a food inspector. The fire was brought under control with no damage to the exposure. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 45 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 4, 31, 15, 5, 11, 13, 62, 67, 38, 30 and Rehab 8.
