INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $592,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $6,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (cutting, welding too close to combustible).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire in the wall and extending to the attic of a residence. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. The roof was ventilated, and the fire was extinguished. It was determined the fire started by welding work being done and extended into a void space in the exterior wall and into the attic. Crews from Stations 8, 16, 7, 15, 3, 6, 24 and Heavy Rescue 11 responded to this incident.
