WHAT: Residental / Business structure fire.
WHEN: March 9, 2023 at 3:32 p.m.
WHERE: 1500 block of Westheimer Rd. 77006.
INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: $125,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $30,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the corner of a 1-story residential / commercial structure and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and the structure was ventilated. Bystanders reported a possible trapped victim, and he was removed from the side of the structure with HPD on scene. HFD EMS transported him to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A secondary search was completed, and the fire was extinguished. CenterPoint arrived on scene and disconnected the power. HFD Arson was requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 15, 19, 28, 31, 7, 60, 33, 30, 8 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
