Houston police homicide detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 6300 Beverly Hill Street about 2:40 a.m. today (May 13).
The person of interest, Maleq De Shun Mackmore, 22, is believed to be have information in the shooting. A photo of Mackmore is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Heaverlo and J. Caten reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and found a parked vehicle with blood on the front of it. The vehicle’s owner remained on the scene and told officers the victim and suspect got into an argument that escalated when the suspect shot the victim multiple times. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported in a private vehicle to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives want to question Maleq Mackmore and consider him as a person of interest in the incident. Mackmore is not charged at this time. He may be driving a white Buick SUV.
