HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Amri and K. Hale reported:
HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting at a convenience store at the above address and found the victim with a gunshot wound. HFD paramedics transported the man to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicated the victim got into a verbal altercation with Cooper inside the store. Cooper shot the victim, chased him outside the store and shot him again. The gunfire struck the windshield of the victim’s vehicle, with a child passenger inside. The child was not injured.
Further investigation determined Cooper was inside the store with two other males prior to and during the confrontation. One of the males, pictured below, picked up evidence from the scene before all three suspects fled in an unknown direction.
Anyone with information on Cooper’s whereabouts and/or the identities of the two other male suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
