One Suspect Arrested, Two Others Sought in Shooting at 2266 Collier Street

Charges have been filed against a juvenile male suspect arrested in the shooting of four other juveniles at 2266 Collier Street about 9:15 p.m. last Thursday (August 22).

The suspect, 15, was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities on charges of four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  Juvenile suspect identities and booking photos are not releasable.

The two male victims, 15 and 16, and two female victims, 10 and 12, were transported to an area hospital in stable conditions.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives M. George and A. Garcia reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call near the above address and found four juveniles being treated by Houston Fire Department paramedics for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.  All four victims were transported to a hospital.

A preliminary investigation determined one of the victims got into a dispute with a suspect via social media.  The suspect instructed the victim to meet at a predetermined location, which the victim refused to do.  The suspect, along with two other suspects, arrived at the residence of the victim and began banging on the door.  When the victim opened the door, the suspects fired multiple times.  The victim and three other persons were struck.  The suspects then fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

Further investigation identified a juvenile male as one of the suspects.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and charges were filed.  On Saturday (August 24), detectives were advised that one suspect and his family members walked in to the HPD Eastside Patrol Station.  The male was then taken into custody without incident.

Two other unidentified Hispanic male suspects remain at-large.

Anyone with information on the identities of the wanted suspects is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
