One Suspect Arrested, Another Sought in Shooting at 6419 Hillcroft Avenue

Charges have been filed against one suspect arrested in the shooting of 6 individuals at 6419 Hillcroft Avenue about 3:05 a.m. on Sunday (March 23).

The suspect, Jose Miguel Briceno, 25, is charged with aggravated assault mass shooting in the 179th State District Court. A booking photo of Briceno is attached to this news release.

A second unidentified suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, remains at large. He is believed to have possibly fled to Mexico. A surveillance photo of the suspect (released on March 23) is attached to this news release.

HPD Major Assaults Division Detectives Z. Brumley and B. Godoy reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a business at the above address and found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported the victims to area hospitals. Officers learned three other males were also transported to hospitals via private vehicles.

Three males, 25, 21 and 43, and one female, 53, are in critical condition. A male, 28, and female, 31, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses stated a male suspect fired multiple shots into the club. Investigators identified two male occupants of black Toyota Corolla as suspects in this incident.

Further investigation identified Briceno as the shooter. He was arrested on Tuesday (March 25), taken to the Harris County Jail and subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
