Municipal Courts Department Announces New Veterans Court
HOUSTON, Texas – The City of Houston Municipal Courts Department announces a new service available to all veterans in need of assistance with their City of Houston citations and/or warrants.
“As the daughter of a veteran, I know firsthand the sacrifice our service men & women have made for our country. Veterans Court is designed to provide a stress-free environment and resources for veterans in need of assistance with their citations. In honor of their service, we want to assist our veterans and we urge them to take advantage of this program,” stated the Honorable J. Elaine Marshall, Director and Presiding Judge of the Municipal Courts Department.
Participating in Veterans Court is a simple three-step process:
- Step One – come to any of our six court locations and speak to a Judge and let them know you are a veteran by providing proper identification acknowledging your veteran status
- Step Two – once you have proven your veteran status the Judge will reschedule your case for Veterans Court and issue a new court date.
- Step Three – attend the Veterans Court on the appointed date and time to receive assistance with your citations and/or warrants.

El Departamento de los Tribunales Municipales Anuncia el Nuevo Tribunal Para Veteranos
HOUSTON, Texas – El Departamento de los Tribunales Municipales anuncia un nuevo servicio disponible para todos los veteranos que necesiten ayuda con sus multas u órdenes de arresto en la Ciudad de Houston.
“Como hija de un veterano, conozco de primera mano el sacrificio que nuestros hombres y mujeres y el servicio que han prestado a nuestro país. El tribunal de veteranos está diseñado para proporcionar un ambiente libre de estrés y recursos para los veteranos que necesiten ayuda con sus multas. En honor a su servicio, queremos ayudar a nuestros veteranos y los alentamos a aprovechar este programa”, declaró J. Elaine Marshall, la Directora y Juez Principal del Departamento de los Tribunales Municipales.
- Paso Uno – venga a cualquiera de los seis juzgados e identifíquese al juez como veterano con identificación válida que indique sue condición de veterano.
- Paso Dos – una vez que haya comprobado su condición de veterano, el juez señalará su caso con una nueva fecha de comparecencia en el tribunal de veteranos.
- Paso Tres – comparezca en el tribunal de veteranos en la fecha y hora señaladas para recibir ayuda con sus multas u órdenes de arresto.
