Houston Public Works Extends Survey for Lead & Copper Water Testing

HOUSTON – Houston Public Works has extended the survey to offer free water testing for qualified homes that may have lead & copper pipes. Lead and copper enter drinking water primarily through plumbing materials. Exposure to lead & copper may cause health problems. This survey should take no more than two minutes and will determine if customers qualify for free lead & water testing.

If customers qualify and are selected for free lead & copper water testing, Houston Water will send an email before the end of the year. A test kit will be dropped off at the front door with instructions on how to sample water from the kitchen or bathroom sink. Leave the sample outside the front door. Houston Water will pick it up within the week. Email questions to [email protected].
