Investigation into Woman Found Deceased at 9940 Richmond Avenue

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 9940 Richmond Avenue about 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 1).

The identity of the victim, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Montalvo and E. Martinez reported:

Officers were dispatched to a female found deceased inside an apartment at the above address.  Apartment management stated they found the woman unresponsive in her bed.

A preliminary investigation indicated the woman had several potential stab or puncture wounds to her body.  An autopsy will be conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to determine the cause and manner of death.
