Investigation into Stabbing at 8600 West Bellfort Street

Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a man at 8600 West Bellfort Street about 1 p.m. last Friday (August 23).

The victim, Derrick Greene, 47, was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Althaus and Z. Brumley reported:

Mr. Greene told police he and another homeless male, known to him as “Byron,” got into an argument over a cell phone outside an auto parts store at the above address.  During the argument, “Byron” pulled a knife and stabbed Greene in the upper back and left arm.  Greene then ran to a nearby fast food restaurant to call for help.  Paramedics transported him to the hospital.  The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
