Houston police are investigating the stabbing of an off-duty Surfside Police Department officer that occurred at 6113 Telephone Road about 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday (March 30).
The victim was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening stab wounds to his leg.

HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing at a fast food restaurant at the above address. Officers learned the victim, an off-duty Surfside Police Department officer, who was not in uniform, entered the restaurant and became aware that a male suspect was inside exposing himself. The Surfside PD officer told the suspect he had to leave and, as he was escorting the suspect out of the business, a physical altercation ensued in the parking lot. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the Surfside officer multiple times in the leg.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the Surfside PD officer to the hospital. The suspect fled the scene prior to HPD officers’ arrival.
The suspect, described only as a white male, fled the scene in a silver, four-door hatchback.
