Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 9000 South Dairy Ashford Road about 10 p.m. on Monday (February 3).
The victim, Johntavios Smith, 31, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and A. Hernandez reported:
Mr. Smith was hanging out with other individuals at a convenience store at the above address when a dark-colored, 1998-2002 Chevrolet Tahoe pulled into the convenience store parking lot.
An unknown black male suspect got out of the SUV and spoke with Smith before both got into the Tahoe. A few minutes later, the suspect shot Smith before fleeing northbound on South Dairy Ashford.
Smith then ran into the convenience store parking lot where first aid was rendered and Houston Fire Department paramedics were called.
