| Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 9300 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 12:50 a.m. today (December 15).
The victim, Robert Dafft, 66, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and C. Johnson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a possible road rage incident at the above address and found Mr. Dafft inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Dafft stated he had just left a bar on Mooney Road and was driving home. As he was traveling southbound on the Eastex Freeway, he passed a vehicle in front of him. A short time later, the vehicle pulled up next to him and someone inside the vehicle fired several gunshots at the driver’s side of Dafft’s vehicle, striking him in his left side. Dafft then exited the freeway and called 9-1-1. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to the hospital.
At this time, there is no known suspect or vehicle description.
