Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and a woman at 8930 Beechnut Street about 8:15 p.m. on Monday (January 11).
The victims, Edelmira Rodriguez, 48, and Walter Rodriguez, 40, were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and A. Hernandez reported:
The victims were home in their apartment when there was a knock on the door. When they opened the door, three to four Hispanic males began shooting. Both Rodriguezes were struck. A group had previously told the victims they needed to pay money for permission to live in the apartment complex.
