Houston police are investigating the shooting of two men at 8101 Appleton Street that occurred about 6:55 p.m. on Thursday (August 19).
The victims, 45 and 42 years of age, suffered non life-threatening wounds and were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Deleon and A. Alobaidi reported:
Officers responded to a report of a drive-by shooting call at the above address and, upon arrival, found no victims or suspects at the location. Witnesses stated the victims had been arguing with an unknown male suspect near the intersection of Julia Street and Appleton Street when, shortly after, both parties began exchanging gunfire.
A few minutes after the shooting was reported, officers were dispatched to a second shooting call in the 600 block of the 610 North Loop service road. Upon arrival, officers found both victims outside their vehicle. Both men had suffered gunshot wounds. The suspects had fled in an unknown direction in a vehicle described only as a blue, older model Chevrolet pickup truck.
