Houston police are investigating the assault of a woman and the shooting of a man that occurred at 7400 Moline Street about 6:45 p.m. last Friday (Sept. 6).
The male and female were taken to separate area hospitals.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer A. Barker reported:
The female and her common-law husband were arguing when he began to physically strike her multiple times. During the incident, the male dropped a gun as he was leaving. The female stated that she picked up the gun to put it away and accidentally pulled the trigger and shot the male. The male sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing.
