Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and a woman at 7121 Cullen Boulevard about 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday (May 27).
The victims, Deandre Fizer, 27, and Chelsea Philips, 25, were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer K. Saulsberry reported:
The victims and a male friend were inside Ms. Philips’ vehicle at a convenience store at the above address and parked next to a black Dodge Ram pickup truck. The male got out of Philips’ car, talked with an individual in the truck and got back inside the vehicle. At that time, a maroon Nissan Altima pulled behind Philips’ car to prevent them from leaving and an unknown male suspect got out of the passenger seat of the truck. He retrieved a handgun from another vehicle, a white sedan, also parked near the truck. The suspect fired several shots into the victims’ vehicle. Ms. Philips put her vehicle in reverse and fled the parking lot. The suspect continued to fire shots at the victims’ vehicle as it was fleeing. He then got into the driver’s seat of the white sedan.
The black Dodge truck, maroon Nissan Altima and white sedan fled the convenience store parking lot southbound on Cullen Boulevard.
Philips’ vehicle became disabled a short time later. She, Mr. Fizer and the male got out of the vehicle. The male left the scene. It is unknown if he was shot in the incident. His whereabouts are unknown.
Family members transported Philips to a hospital with two gunshot wounds to her arm. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Fizer to a hospital. He had sustained two gunshot wounds to the back.
