Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7111 Dixie Drive about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday (April 24).
The victim, Jose Carlos Tapia, 31, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers L. Kauffman and C. Bowling reported:
Mr. Tapia and two other persons in a vehicle arrived at the Houston Fire Department station at the above address. One witness removed something from the vehicle and then left the scene. Paramedics transported Tapia to the hospital. The second witness was detained when officers arrived. The witness stated they were shot at in the intersection of Bellfort Street and Broadway Street. Patrol officers checked the area and did not locate any evidence.
