Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 5633 Arthington Avenue about 6:40 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 1).
The victim, Yelsin Orellana-Manchame, 25, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Cimeni reported:
Mr. Orellana-Manchame was walking on the street in his neighborhood at the above address when an unknown suspect ran up and pointed a gun at him. When Orellana-Manchame wrestled the suspect for the gun, the suspect shot him in the chest. Orellana-Manchame ran back to his residence where family members called 911. Paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital.
At this time, the suspect and motive for the shooting is unknown.
