| Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 5617 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road that occurred about 2 p.m. on Saturday (May 15).
The victim, Master Mooring, Jr., 42, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective L. Thornton reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a hotel at the above address and found Mr. Mooring, Jr. inside a hotel room with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Mooring, Jr. to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation indicated an unknown female wearing all black walked up to Mooring, Jr.’s hotel room door and fired multiple times into the room. Witnesses stated the female then got into the passenger side of a red sport utility vehicle (SUV) waiting in the parking lot. The SUV then fled the scene going northbound on the southbound lanes of the North Freeway.
At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
